Welcome to our new fellow, Dr. Ausman!

It’s time to welcome our first fellow of 2021!

Dr. Jason Ausman is our 7th fellow since the fellowship program began with CCEMS. 

Dr. Ausman is an Emergency Medicine physician in the United States Army and did his residency training in Fort Hood, TX.  Originally from Florida, he attended the University of Florida, completed EMT-Basic training in 2004, and Paramedic training in 2006.  Prior to attending medical school, he spent 8 years in EMS; the majority of that time he worked for Lee County EMS, a 3rd service EMS agency in Florida with 35 ambulances that run 100,000 calls per year. During his time in EMS, he worked in areas including 911 response, interfacility transport, critical care helicopter and fixed-wing transport, QA/QI, and special event operations.  He was also a State of Florida certified EMS instructor and taught EMT/Paramedic programs for 4 years.  He is married to Dr. Chelsea Ausman, an Emergency Medicine resident in Fort Hood, TX.  His interests in EMS include airway, critical care, special event operations, and tactical medicine.
