Congratulations to our Volunteer of the Month, Jeff McElroy. Jeff first joined CCEMS as a volunteer in July of 2003 but had to go on inactive status in mid-2013 due to work. He became fully active again in November 2016. He has donated more than 2300 hours of his time to the community. The Award was presented at the February meeting of the CCEMS Board of Directors. Board president Glen Henning presented the award.
Jeff is an Emergency Care Attendant. He says he first became interested in EMS when an employee of the Montgomery County Hospital District encouraged him to go on a ride along. That person is now an employee of CCEMS and is our volunteer coordinator, Holly Pichette.
Jeff says he volunteers because he loves to help people and gets personal satisfaction knowing that he can make someone’s bad day a little better.
He says the best part of volunteering at CCEMS is feeling that he is part of a huge family and no matter what he contributes he feels very much appreciated by the full-time staff and others.
He says he would definitely recommend CCEMS for volunteering because it’s family oriented and yet very professionally managed organization.
Jeff is the South Texas Territory Manager for the Avis Budget Group.
