Since joining CCEMS she has donated 500 hours of her time to the community. Melanie says she volunteers because she enjoys using her skills to help the public and her Spanish bilingual skills to help the EMTs on calls with Spanish speaking patients.
She says that volunteering with CCEMS is enjoyable because everyone is “flexible, accommodating, and very welcoming to those who want to dedicate their time to helping the community through EMS.” She adds that “the crews are always more than willing to help you, teach you, and work with you on your skills.”
She says she would definitely recommend CCEMS to other potential volunteers. Melanie’s association with CCEMS actually began with a ride-along and has blossomed into so much more. When she’s not working or volunteering, Melanie likes to cook, play video games, workout, and travel.
