On Wednesday, August 21, 2019, at 10 a.m. Cypress Creek EMS released a video on its Facebook Page in favor of the 911 SAVES Act which would reclassify dispatchers at the federal level as First Responders. Right now the U.S. Department of Labor classifies dispatchers as secretaries. In reality they are the first, first responders who are first on the scene through their telephone connection delivering lifesaving instructions while directing help to the location.
Please visit our Facebook page and share the video with all of your Facebook friends. This is a national effort. Here’s where the bill stands rights now. On July 12, 2019, the 911 SAVES Act passed the U.S. House of Representatives as an amendment to the National Defense Authorization Act 2020. Now, it’s up to the Senate to act. Please, tell your Senator to support the #911SavesAct and vote for #NDAA2020
