He commissioned in the US Army in 2011 as part of the Health Professions Scholarship Program. He earned his Doctorate in Osteopathic Medicine from the University of Medicine and Dentistry New Jersey in 2015.  He is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Public Health at the University of Texas.

Starting in 2003, he spent 10 years as an EMT-B for a volunteer rescue company and six years as a technical rescue technician and search and rescue team member in New Jersey. His research interests include the effects of sleep on performance, patient centered outcomes and IED blast injuries.

His clinical interests include ultrasound, tactical medicine, aeromedical evacuation and large-scale disaster planning. He is a clinical educator for the Airforce Defense Institute for Medical Operations and the DHS Customs and Border Patrol BORSTAR program and a provider with the state Emergency Medical Task Force.

Last year Dr. Esposito was part  of a group from Brooke Army Medical Center who provided ultrasound instruction to our supervisors before CCEMS deployed Point of Care Ultrasound (POCUS) in the field.

Dr. Esposito will be at CCEMS for the next 30 days and will serve as Assistant Medical Director. As such, he will work directly with our supervisors, paramedics and EMTs in the field and will serve as an instructor in our paramedic academy.  Fellows will rotate into the CCEMS program every 30 days.

The program at Cypress Creek EMS began in February 2019 with our first fellow, Major John G. Knight Jr., MD.
