Registration is now open for the next UAB EMT-Basic Class. UAB stands for User Advisory Board and that group is made up of emergency agencies for which CCEMS handles 9-1-1 and dispatch. UAB Fire Departments sponsor the class and CCEMS coordinates it. Usually, most of the students in this class come from area fire departments, but there is some space available for civilians.
There are two such classes each year. The Spring 2018 Class graduated in May. The Fall class starts on August 21 and wraps up on December 8. Classes meet on Tuesday and Thursday nights from 6 to 10 pm in the Charles R. Hooks Education Center at 7111 Five Forks in Spring, Texas, 77379. Tuition is $800 which Includes course tuition and fees, textbook, and online access. Registration is first come, first serve with priority to UAB department members.
