Support CCEMS Blood Program by Donating on May 25

Cypress Creek EMS is one of only two ground EMS systems in the country that carry whole blood in the field for transfusion. We use O-Negative for children and women of child-bearing years (yes, there is a medical reason for this) and O-Positive for everyone else. Type O is considered a universal blood type. About 7% of of the population has O-Negative and about 38% have O-Positive.

To bolster supplies, CCEMS holds several blood drives each year. Our next drive is coming up on Friday, May 25 from 2:30 to 7 p.m. at the Charles R. Hook Education Center on the CCEMS Campus at 7111 Five Forks, 77379. We are holding this drive with the Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center. We need Type O for our whole blood program but across the region, ALL TYPES ARE NEEDED. If you give elsewhere, please use our code L987.
