For the second year in a row the Harris County Precinct 1 Constable Alan Rosen’s Office is donating stuffed animals to Cypress Creek EMS. Our medics give them to frightened children who end up in our ambulances. It comforts the kids and the toys are theirs to keep when we deliver them to the hospital.
Every year, Precinct 1 holds a Toy Drive. Last year, Sgt. Bradley Sternberg happened to mention to his wife that they had a lot of stuffed animals that did not yet have a home. His wife, Ann Marie Veeck, who just happens to be a CCEMS Paramedic, told him about our need for “Ambulance Animals.” Here’s a picture of Bradley and Ann Marie from last year.
Last year Precinct one brought us more than 200 stuffed animals. This year there are even more.
Just this morning, Cypress Creek EMS received a Facebook message and pictures from the mother of a young girl were cared for saying that she ” Totally loves her teddy bear you gave her on the way to the hospital. He’s comforted her, helped her, and helped her nurses. Thank you guys so very much!!!”
We do not have permission to use the pictures on the patient’s name, but your are very welcome. Now, you know where some of those ambulance animals come from. Thanks once again to Harris County Precinct One and Petsmart which donated the stuffed animals to the toy drive. We are now fully stocked for some time to come.
