Congratulations to the CCEMS Volunteer of the Month for May, Tiffany Vanderhider. During the board’s regular monthly meeting, President-Elect Ruben Gonzales presented the award.
Tiffany Vanderhider is one of our most active volunteers and one of our most vocal defenders. She has been a volunteer for nearly ten years, starting with us in July of 2008. In addition to volunteering with us, Tiffany is an ambassador for Cypress Creek EMS wherever she goes and all over social media.
In addition, to serving as a volunteer and working full time, she is raising a teenaged daughter, Madeline, who is an EMT and is also a CCEMS volunteer when she’s home from college. Tiffany is also very involved in the rescue of Bassett Hounds having fostered nearly 50 over five years.
Tiffany joined us as a non-medical driver in 2008. It captured her interest and in 2010 she got her EMT-Intermediate certification through CCEMS. While juggling job, home and community involvement, and volunteering, Tiffany attended our paramedic academy for 13 months. She graduated on April 29. Her daughter says she is a role model and that she always puts others first without much thought of herself. Madeline says that could be why she is so intrigued by the medical field and loves to help her patients in any way she can.
