Thanks to the Harris County Precinct 1 Constable’s Office for donating more than 200 stuffed animals to Cypress Creek EMS. Our medics give them to frightened children who end up in our ambulances. The stuffed animals give them comfort and are theirs to keep when we deliver them to the hospital.
These ” Ambulance Animals” are donated by various groups and individuals. Here’s how Precinct 1 got involved.
Every year Precinct 1 has a big toy drive for deserving children who might not otherwise have any gifts under the tree and sometimes they have toys left over. Recently, Sergeant Bradley Sternberg was discussing the toy drive with his wife, Ann Marie Veeck, who just happens to be a CCEMS Paramedic. She told Brad that we use stuffed animals on our ambulances to comfort scared children. We were a bit low on supply, so this donation could not have come at a better time. Plus, it’s Christmas.
Our Thanks to Precinct 1 Constable Alan Rosen, Sergeant Bradley Sternberg, Precinct 1 Deputies and Staff as well at Petsmart, which donated the stuffed animals to the Precinct 1 Toy Drive. And, thanks to CCEMS Paramedic Ann Marie Veeck for mentioning “Ambulance Animals” at just the right time.
