Cotton Harvest

Cotton Weaver retired as a Cypress Creek EMS Volunteer in October at the ripe young age of 83. His last ride was on October 19th, 2015, but he plans to keep up his EMT certification.

At the time, he was reaping his annual crop of Ruby Red Grapefruit and  sharing the bounty with CCEMS employees. When he stopped by on December 14, he harvested an unexpected award for his many years of service to CCEMS. Executive Director Bradley England and a group of employees surprised him with a framed uniform shirt, stethoscope, his I.D. badge and a print article about Cotton.

You may remember that Cotton was the subject of an article on this page this summer. ABC 13 saw it and did its own story.  Plus, an employment magazine called “JobSparx” reprinted our article. Here’s a video of the surprise presentation.

Here are a few pictures, as well. To see the original story we did on Cotton, click here.

Thanks for your many faithful years of service, Cotton! You are the epitome of dedication.
